She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962 and a son Glen in 1949. ******** Phonograph Herald Nov 21, 1979 Funeral services for Jennie Irene Gibson former St Paul resident were held Friday Nov 14 at 2 p.m. in in Apfel Butler Geddes Chapel with Rev Robert O. McLeod pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating, Mrs Gibson died November 12 in a grand Island hospital at the age of 91. Mrs Dale Johnson sang Amazing Grace and the Lords Prayer accompanied by the organist Mrs Bert Johnson. Pallbearers were Dr Melvin Gibson, Glen William Gibson, Scott Gibson and Richard Dubas. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Jennie Irene Harvey, daughter of James and Ann Harvey, was born December 6, 1917 near Farwell, Nebraska. She died November 12, 1979 at Grand Island at the age of 91 years. She was educated in a rural school near Farwell and St Paul Business and Normal College. For several years she taught in rural schools in the Farwell area. On June 22, 1909 she married John Gibson of St Paul. They made their home in Farwell until 1919 and in St Paul from 1919 until Mr Gibson's death in 1962. They celebrat4ed their 50the wedding anniversary in 1959. subsequent to Mr Gibson's death Mrs Gibson lived in St Paul when failing health necessitated her moving to a nursing home in Grand Island. where she resided until the time of her death. She was the last to remain of her immediate family of James and Ann Harvey who were early pioneers in Howard County. Mrs Gibson was active in the St Paul community during her 50 years of residency there. She held at one time or another all of the offices of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Church . she was for many years chairman of various circles of that Auxiliary. she was at one time treasurer of the church. Mrs Gibson was recognized for her many of years of service to the Presbyterian Church by election to honorary membership to the Board of Christian Education of the United Presbyterian Church of the United States, one of the highest honors bestowed on laymen by the church. Mrs Gibson was also prominent in the Fraternal Order of Loyal Neighbors of America. She served in every office in the St Paul Camp of that organization and for many years was recorder in charge of the organization's life insurance program. For this she was given special commendation by the supreme office of the fraternity. Mrs Gibson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter in 1912. a son Glenn in 1949. four brothers Arch. Robert. James and William, and three sisters Annie Louise who died in infancy. Agnes Harvey Moeiler and Isabelle Harvey Johansen Mrs Gibson leaves to mourn her passing, a son Dr Meivin K Gibson of Pullman. Washington, three grandchildren. Glenn William Gibson of Loveland. Colorado. Mrs Richard Dubas and Mrs Margaret Peters both of Grand Island and nine great grandchildren
