Description	:	Jennie was first married to John Curry on October 2, 1901, in Mahaska County, Iowa. I believe that Jennie's obituary, which I have transcribed below, has a couple of errors. It states she was born in Tilton, which was in Appanoose County, Iowa, and it states that she married William Baker in Buxton on Oct. 17, 1910. According to the marriage record found in ancestry.com, Jennie married William W. Baker on October 18, 1911, in Buxton, Iowa. On that marriage record, Jennie gave her place of birth as Rosehill, Iowa. Jennie's parents were living in Mahaska County in 1900, and I found no evidence that they ever lived in Appanoose County. I have transcribed the obituary as written. --------------- Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," September 22, 1970: Jennie M. Baker, 87, of Jefferson Square Manor, died today at 7:35 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital, following an illness of six weeks. She was born April 27, 1883 in Tilton, the daughter of Norton and Sarah Small Havens. She has lived in Ottumwa since about 1920, and was a member of the Methodist Church. She was married to William Baker on Oct. 17, 1910 at Buxton. He preceded her in death in 1954. She is survived by two sons, William Baker of Ottumwa and Burle Baker of Agency; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Randall of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Margaret Randall of Ottumwa; two sisters, Mrs. Josie Moore and Mrs. Francis Zimmer, both of Oskaloosa; one brother, John Havens of Keisler, Minn.; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one sister. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. William Rieckhoff of the Agency Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
