Kibbee Our little community was greatly saddened last Thursday morning at learning of the death, after a short illness of Bright's disease, of Mrs. Lewis N. Kibbee, who has been a life-long resident. Jennie May Fish, daughter of John and Mary Lougee Fish, was born in East Randolph, Dec. 13, 1846. She attended the Randolph Normal school and taught school for several years, until her marriage to Lewis N. Kibbee, Jan. 19, 1869. They celebrated their 50th anniversary last January. She had one brother, John Fish, who went West in 1873 and has not been heard from since 1882. Mr. Kibbee is now very ill, suffering from blood poisoning, resulting from a small sliver in his hand, which at first he considered of no importance. Besides her husband, Mrs. Kibbee leaves four children to miss a loving wife and mother---Irving L. of Keene, N.H., Mrs. A.G. Osgood of Randolph, both of whom, and also Mrs. Irving L. Kibbee were with her during her illness; Mrs. Clarence E. Camp of Stockton, Cal., and Mrs. C.L. Bailey of Oakland, Cal. The last two named daughters arrived from their distant homes in season for the funeral. There are also six grandchildren, Irving Kibbee having two sons, L. Maynard and Carlton R., and Mrs. Camp two sons and two daughters, Maurice, Carlton, Margaret and Jocelyn. Mrs. Kibbee was an earnest Christian, a member of the East Randolph church for about 43 years, and as long as her health permitted she was very active in all church and Sunday school work. She was teacher in the Sunday school for many years, president of the Ladies' Benevolent society a long time, and for 17 years was one of the church finance committee, and in all she served most acceptably. She was exceedingly fond of flowers, which she cultivated largely indoors. Because of failing health she had been unable in later years to take an active part in work outside her home, but her words of council and good cheer will be sadly missed by those who knew her best and who were in the habit of calling on her for the advise they knew her so capable of giving. Surely she was "saved to serve" and it may be most deservedly said of her, "she hath done what she could." Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Monday at 2 p.m., Rev.
