Description	:	Mrs. Jennie Marra, age 87, life-long resident of Alton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10a.m. at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in Orange- City. The Rev. David Johnson, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church of Alton will officiate, followed by interment at Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton. Jennie was born January 12, 1894, at Alton, the daughter of Gerrit Van Laar and Susan Den Beste Van Laar. In August of 1914, she married Nick Marra at Alton. He passed away in 1961. Mrs. Marra was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sons: Everett , Willard, Wallace and a still born infant; and two brothers. Survivors include two sons: Nick, of Cleveland, Ohio; and Gary, of Cedar Falls; and four daughters, Miss Ada, of Alton, Mrs. Lambert (Olva) Hollinga, of Orange City, Mrs. Dick (Vivian) Bronkhorst of Hawarden, and Mrs. Jay (Gloria) De Jong, of Orange City; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
