She was born Oct. 25, 1884, in Chalmers to John and Marcella Ward Beasy. On Nov. 22, 1905, she was married to Otto (Fred) Strantz. He died Nov. 23, 1953. She was a charter member of the Chalmers Baptist Church and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church at Reynolds. She had lived in White County for most of her life in the Chalmers, Reynolds, and Monticello communities. Since 1973, she had lived in West Lafayette with her daughter, Betty Ann Snyder. She had cared for children in her home for many years and also had been a companion to elderly women for several years. Surviving are five daughters, Bonita Watt and Katheryn Sipes, both of Indianapolis, Bertha Mae Huffman, Speedway, Ethel Elmore, Monticello, and Betty Ann Snyder, West Lafayette; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Maude E. Beasy, Frankfort, and Susan B. Callanan, Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by a daughter and three brothers. The Rev. Jerry D. Elmore, a grandson, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
