Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Bauer, Lee George, Fred Hasenpflug, Elmer Johnson, Joe Manion and Herb Saloum. Honorary pallbearers were Perry Adams, Claude Hart, N. Christ Nelsen, Doug Russell and James Saloum. Jens Peter Nielsen, better known as Jim, was born March 24, 1887 in Hirtshals, Denmark. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and received his early education in Denmark. He came to the United States in 1906 and lived in Omaha until 1909 when he came to Knox County and made his home in Creighton for many years. He was married to Mrs. Lillian Carder on July 17, 1937 at Creighton. Mr. Nielsen was a member of the Creighton Methodist Church. He was a painter and interior decorator by trade. Surviving are his wife; a son, Henry Vernon Nielsen of Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a stepson, Calvin Carder of Phoenix, Ariz.; five step grandchildren; a half sister, Mrs. Paul Wilcox of Urica, Calif. and a half brother.
