Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wagner Funeral Home in Central City, with Pastor John Prettyman officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery. Mr. Danhauer was born on Sept. 13, 1939, in Aurora to Ellsworth W. and Violet E. (Sandberg) Danhauer. He married Janet E. Holtorf on Aug. 23, 1964, in Central City. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Sharon Danhauer of Columbus; two daughters and a son-in-law, Angela Danhauer of Columbus and Deborah and Chris Lovejoy of Central City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Dorland Danhauer of Des Moines, Iowa; and a sister, Sondra Lofland of Sioux Falls, S.D. He grew up in Marquette and received his education in the Marquette Public Schools. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1957. He entered the United States Army on Jan. 9, 1962, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 6, 1963. Jerry and Janet lived in York, where Jerald was employed by Safeway Grocery. In 1965, they moved to a farm outside of Hordville, farming until 1968, when they moved to Columbus. In Columbus, Jerry was employed by Dale Electronics as an electroplater, followed by employment at Northwest Electric as a motor rewinder/repairman. In 1990, they moved to a farm outside of Central City, where Jerry worked at Darling Service until his retirement in 2009. Jerry was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship in Central City. He enjoyed being a member of the Gideons since the early 1970s, until his health no longer allowed him to attend the meetings. He loved working in his shop with his grandchildren. He held time spent with his family dear. He loved to travel, and family vacations were a priority and an enjoyment for him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
