Jerry was born in Orleans, Nebraska on March 8, 1940, the third of four children, born to Malvin Levoy and Etta Helen (Seery) Johnson. Read More	Jerald Lee "Jerry" Johnson, 81 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away, on May 22, 2021, at his daughters' home in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jerry was born in Orleans, Nebraska on March 8, 1940, the third of four children, born to Malvin Levoy and Etta Helen (Seery) Johnson. He received his primary education from Bertrand Public School, and later attended and graduated from Holdrege High School, with the class of 1958. Following his education Jerry served with the Army National Guard from 1958 to 1964. After he returned, he drove the milk truck for Rite-Way, was a plumber for Wayne Anderson Plumbing in Holdrege, managed the ranch for Roy Pearson Ranch in Purdum, Nebraska and retired from Lloyd Waller Feedlot in Holdrege in 2002. On April 20, 1968, Jerry was united in marriage and to this union five children were born: Jody, Jolene, Jamie, Joan, Joshua. This marriage later ended in divorce. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting. After his retirement he was always tinkering with things trying to fix whatever needed it. He would check up on his kids daily and once he was done looking after them, he would stop by Napa Auto Parts, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and Orscheln Farm and Home He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagle for several years. Jerry will be remembered for his straight forward demeanor. The man never met a stranger, he talked to and got along with everyone. Jerry was preceded in death by: his parents; step-mom, Isabell Hanson; brother, Ronald Johnson; sister, Sheila Burkey; step-brother, Owen Hanson Jr.; two step- sisters: Kay Hockemeier; and Alice Hanson; niece, Susan Boomhower; nephew, Malvin Johnson; and one nephew-in-law, Buster Bodfield. Jerry is survived by, his children: Jody Lewis and her husband, Les of Potter, Nebraska; Jolene Washington and her husband, Donal of Lincoln; Jamie Johnson and his wife, Judy of Holdrege; Joan Johnson and her special friend, Trenton Bartels of Holdrege; Joshua Johnson and his wife, Jamie of Holdrege, Nebraska; seven grandchildren: Brett Pascoe; Ethan Johnson; Tiffany Beyer and her husband, Thad; Cortney Lewis; Austin Lewis; Hannah Schroder; and Mason Schroder; one great-granddaughter, Keziah Beyer; one sister, Winona Barker of Lexington, Nebraska; one step-brother, Marvin Hanson and his wife, Eileen of Holdrege; one sister-in-law, Maxine Johnson of Lexington; one brother-in-law, Fred Burkey of Sterling, Colorado; and a step-sister-in-law, Erma Hanson of Kearney, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
