Jeri was born on February 23, 1926, the daughter of Glen and Ruby (Galbraith) Blaylock. Her parents named her Marie Alice Blaylock. When she was eleven months old her mother, Ruby, passed away. Read More	Jeraldine Marie "Jeri" Renter, 86, of Norfolk, NE. died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Norfolk Golden Living Center. Jeri was born on February 23, 1926, the daughter of Glen and Ruby (Galbraith) Blaylock. Her parents named her Marie Alice Blaylock. When she was eleven months old her mother, Ruby, passed away. A few months later, Harry and Jesse (Hawkins) Otto adopted her and renamed her Jeraldine Marie Otto. Jeri was raised on a farm near Plainview. Jeri met Howard Renter while the two were in high school. They married in 1946 following Howard's honorable discharge from the US Army. They made their home in Plainview and raised their family of four children. In 1970, Howard and Jeraldine purchased the IGA Grocery Store in Laurel. After Howard's death in 1973, Jeraldine moved to Norfolk in 1974 with her mother, Jesse. Jeraldine began her career working in medical records at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Jeri was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Norfolk. She had a life-long desire to help people. She would drive people to church and help with Meals on Wheels. Jeri always enjoyed visiting with her many friends at the Norfolk Senor Center. Jeri is survived by: children and their spouses—Randy and Denise Renter, of Dallas, TX, and Pam and Lars Madsen, of Napa, CA; her grandchildren—Jason Renter, Katherine Renter, Chris Donner, Michelle Schlote, Jared Schlote, Kristian Madsen and Nikolas Madsen; her great grandchildren—Julia Renter, Carson Renter and Ethan Donner; son-in-law, Wes Schlote. Jeri was preceded in death by her natural parents, Glen and Ruby Blaylock; her natural brothers, James and Robert Blaylock; her adoptive parents, Harry and Jesse Otto; her husband, Howard; her children—Paula Schlote and Mark Renter Inurment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Plainview, NE.
