Description	:	Horry Herald March 4, 1915 Hon. Jeremiah Mishoe died on the 21st of February, 1915. He was 73 years and three days old. His sufferings were very short being sick only a few days. When he was a young man he volunteered as a soldier in the war between the States and served faithfully through the war. After the war he came home and married Miss Orilla Booth and lived with her until the 12th of last June. She preceded him to the grave. During their stay on earth they had born to them ten children, viz: Jeremiah L. Mishoe, who died at the age of 22, Callie Mishoe who married J. D. Allen of Allen S.C., Ellen Mishoe who married J. B. who died at the age of 26 years, Addie Mishoe who married D. M. Mishoe of Gallivants Ferry, S.C., C. Pennie Mishoe who married W. D. Pudges of Fairmont, N.C., K. L. Mishoe of Cool Springs, S.C., Nellie Mishoe, who married F.C. Norris of Florence, S. C., and G. C. Mishoe of Aynor. He was a useful man in his community. At the death of his father he was appointed Magistrate and served 18 years, then he was appointed on the Board of County Commissioners for several years, then he was elected to the State Legislature and served his people there six years, then he was appointed Magistrate of Cools Springs, S.C., and was holding that position at the time of his death. He was also Pension Commissioner for Horry County at the time of his death. The blameless life he had led, his high character, his gentle and unassuming manners, won him not only the respect but the admiration of all with whom he came in contact. As gentle as a child, and as tender as a woman, with the courage of a hero and a faith that never faltered, he proved himself a worthy descendent of that race of famous men from whom he sprang and most worthily bore a name which will be honored as long as liberty loving people shall find a dwelling placed upon the earth. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and has been practically all of his life.
