The name of Jeremiah Beck, along with other members of the Beck Family, is found near the middle of page 313 in the right column. The following statement is included: "Jeremiah Beck came from Kentucky about the same time as the Denhams, and lived east of Bethel. He was also an aged man at the time of his settlement, and was the father of John Beck, who was killed by the Indians in Kentucky; of Jeremiah, Samuel,... He was also an aged man at the time of his settlement, and was the father of John Beck, who was killed by the Indians in Kentucky; of Jeremiah, Samuel, Levi, and Stephen Beck; of Hannah Beck, the wife of Stephen Frazee; Ruth, the wife of William Goble; and Sarah, the wife of Kelley Burke. The oldest son, Jeremiah, was widely known as Squire Beck. He was married to Charity Denham, and lived on the present McMurchy farm, south of Bethel. He had sons, - John, who died on the homestead; Calvin, who still resides in the neighborhood; Hiram, who lived north of Bethel; and Dr. Oliver, who died in Iowa. His daughters became the wives of Richard Pemberton and ___ Headley."
