Description	:	Jerome Bushnell was born William Prindall and was using that name in 1880, just five years before he married Nancy (Crouse) Davis on 8 August 1885. He was a doctor (listed in the 1904 Thomaston Register as a botanical doctor). William Prindall was born in Brunswick, Maine, on 19 November 1834, son of James and Dolly (Pollard) Prindall, and on 31 August 1856, he married Abigail Ward in Topsham, Maine. William Prindall was born in Brunswick, Maine, on 19 November 1834, son of James and Dolly (Pollard) Prindall, and on 31 August 1856, he married Abigail Ward in Topsham, Maine. Abigail was born 7 February 1836, in Topsham, probably daughter of Nathaniel and Hannah (Allen) Ward of Topsham. In 1860 William, Abigail, and three of their children were living with her parents in Topsham. In 1870 they were living in Brunswick with five of their children, and William's occupation was listed as huckster. In 1880 William Prindall, wife Abigail and four children were still in Brunswick, where William's occupation was listed as physician. The children of William and Abigail (Ward) Prindall were: (1) Adelaide B. Prindall, born 24 March 1857, in Brunswick; married Thomas Wilson Ricker in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on 8 November 1875, and had one child, Harry E. Ricker (1879-1947, an engineer in Boston). Adelaide apparently died in childbirth, for Thomas Ricker re-married on 2 December 1880. In 1880 son Harry appears to have been living in St. Paul, Minnesota, apparently with Ricker relatives. (2 & 3) Twins, William and Edward Prindall, born 11 November 1858, in Brunswick. Both were living unmarried with their parents in Brunswick in 1880. Edward died in Brunswick on 10 April 1910. (4) Warren A. Prindall, born 8 August 1861, in Brunswick; living with parents in 1880. (5) Elizabeth Prindall, born about 1867; married Rossi Donato on 23 May 1897. In 1904 they were living in Thomaston, where Donato was a barber. William Prindall of Brunswick enlisted as a Private in Company F of the Tenth Maine Infantry Regiment on 4 October 1861, and deserted in January 1862. Six months later on 26 July 1862, William Prindall of Portland enlisted as a Private in Company D of the same regiment (Tenth Maine Infantry). The Tenth Regiment was re-organized as the 29th Maine Infantry Regiment on 31 May 1864, and William Prindall remained as a member of that unit until his term expired and he was discharged as a Private on 4 October 1864. William Prindall, alias Jerome Bushnell, applied for a Civil War pension in 1907.
