Jerome was born on September 20, 1938, in Orchard, NE, the son of Sylvester and Winifred (Cloyd) Bahm. He was raised on the family farm north of Ewing and attended rural school. He graduated as the valedictorian from Ewing High School in 1956. He continued his education at Norfolk Junior College. On June 1, 1958, Jerome married Nina Bentzen. The couple moved to Denver where Jerome earned his degree in accounting from the University of Denver in 1962. After his graduation, they returned to Norfolk and began his accounting career. He began his private practice as Jerome C. Bahm CPA. Over the years Jerome mentored many young accountants. He was still working at the time of his death. He was known for his priority for his clients and he had a life-long love for hunting and fishing, both of which had taken him from Canada to South America. He was an advocate for Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. His enjoyment of football began when he played eight man football and grew to be a strong fan of Nebraska football. He and Nina enjoyed going to many bowl games. Jerome was active in the Lion’s Club and played the trumpet in the club band. He and Nina belonged to several dinner dance clubs. Family was Jerome’s passion. They enjoyed many vacations to Minnesota and Colorado. Jerome is survived by his wife of 57 years; their children—Robin Titterington, Jay and Darnell Bahm, Amy and Bob Sisson, all of Norfolk, Amber Bahm and Scott Anderson of Lincoln; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerome requested that memorials may be directed to Ducks Unlimited or Lutheran High Northeast.
