Gordon Jensen, pastor, and the Rev. J.L. Garland, pastor of the Grace Bible Church, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Jerome Sharp was born Oct. 28, 1855 at Orion, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sharp. At the age of 21 he moved to near Stanton, where he taught school for four years. In 1879 he moved to a farm 13 miles west of Creighton. "There was only one house in Creighton at that time, owned by the three Bruce brothers, the men who founded Creighton. He was united in marriage to Miss Viola M. Dana at the Millerboro parsonage on Nov. 5, 1893. Two daughters, Lula and Helen, were born to this union. The family moved to Creighton in 1902 and in 1908 built their own home in the west part of town, which the family still owns. Mr. Sharp was a stockholder in the Creighton National Bank and had an interest in the Creighton Lumber Company, now the West-Foreman Lumber Co. He retired from active business after working for seven years, from 1914 to 1921, at the Creighton Elevator. Mrs. Sharp passed away Aug. 20, 1945 and since then Mr. Sharp made his home in the winter with Mrs. Harry Tyler and during the summer with Mrs. Matthew Gardner. Mr. Sharp was a member of the Creighton Masonic Lodge and became a Master Mason June 30, 1914. Masonic services were conducted at the cemetery. He became a member of the First Congregational Church of Knox County, located at Creighton, April 8, 1914. He later became a member of the Congregational-Baptist Church of Creighton on Feb. 16, 1947. Mr. Sharp passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harry Tyler, Monday, April 27, at the age of 97. Surviving are his daughters, Mrs. Harry (Helen) Tyler and Mrs. Matthew (Lula) Gardner, both of Creighton; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Peters of Olympia, Wash.; Elsie Cunningham of Muscoda, Wis. and Lizy "Smith of Orion, Wis. and one brother, Stephen Sharp of Spokane, Wash.
