Description	:	Jerome Wister Dawson, eldest child of Jeremiah Smith Dawson and Nancy Alvena Harmon, enlisted in the Confederacy on 28 Jun 1861 at the age of 15. After being wounded twice, the last resulting in a permanent disability, he received a Certificate of Disability 20 Jan 1865. About 1866 he married Elizabeth Jane Goforth, with whom he had three children. Their children were John Kimball, William and Ida Alvena. Eliza Jane died in 1885 and on 26 Mar 1886 he married Laura Jane Barry. Before their first child was born in September, Jerome died in July. (PLD)
