Born March 15, 1951, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Dale Lester and Mary Anna Hummell Koble. In 1980, he married Sheila in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Koble taught special education for 34 years and was transition coordinator for two years, both at Fort Madison High School. He retired in June 2011. Read More	Jerry A. Koble, 61, of Fort Madison died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012, at his home. Born March 15, 1951, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Dale Lester and Mary Anna Hummell Koble. In 1980, he married Sheila in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Koble taught special education for 34 years and was transition coordinator for two years, both at Fort Madison High School. He retired in June 2011. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1969 and earned degrees in education and special education at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. He served 26 years in the Iowa Army National Guard as a medical section sergeant and served on active duty in Dessert Storm in 1991. He advocated for homeless and abused animals and was admired for serving others. He was known as a dedicated family man and patriot and for his sense of humor, his wit and other talents. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Kristen Patten of Fort Madison; one brother, Dale Koble of Maryland; one sister, Cheryl Blodgett of Macon, Mo.; six grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, his father, one infant sister and his grandparents. Burial with military rites will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
