Jerry Dean Thomas, son of Jerry Lee and Lida Mae Rumbaugh Thomas, was born April 6, 1967 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He grew up in Beacon and was a 1986 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He was 43 years, 4 months and 27 days of age. Jerry Dean Thomas, son of Jerry Lee and Lida Mae Rumbaugh Thomas, was born April 6, 1967 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He grew up in Beacon and was a 1986 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He married Rhonda Hughes on February 12, 1988 in Oskaloosa. They are the parents of five children. Jerry started his career at Vermeer Manufacturing January 10, 1990, he held several different positions in different plants and most recently worked as a materials handler in the parts center. Jerry attended the Assembly of God Church. Recently Jerry was able to fulfill his ultimate dream-owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Friendships were very important to Jerry and he has remained close to even those friends from childhood. Jerry treasured his children above everything and sharing in their lives was important and enjoyable for him. Jerry's family includes his children: Jerad John Thomas of Beacon, Heather Ann Thomas(Shawn Graham)of Oskaloosa; Kyle Allen Thomas of Oskaloosa, Kathlyn Brianna Thomas of Beacon and Trenton Daniel Thomas of Beacon; his grandchildren: Aidan and Keaton Graham; father and step-mother, Jerry and Diane Thomas of Oskaloosa; mother, Lida Thomas of Beacon; his life partner Rhonda Thomas of Beacon; brothers: Roger and James Thomas of Beacon; a stepsister: Echo Kridelbaugh; stepbrothers: Shannon and Shane Kridelbaugh; and a lifelong friend, Keith McWilliams of Oskaloosa. Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents. Memorial contributions may be made to his family. Visitation: will begin at 10am Monday morning, Sept. 6, 2010 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 2-4pm to greet visitors. Funeral Service: 10:30am Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, 2010 at First Assembly of God in Oskaloosa. Interment: Beacon Cemetery.
