Description	:	Jerry L. Souhrada, 70, of Burwell, formerly of Central City, died at his home. Jerry was born Sept. 10, 1939, in Syracuse to Edward and Ella (Dobrey) Souhrada. He was united in marriage to Judy H. Bartling on May 6, 1961, in Creighton. She preceded him in death on March 29, 1997. Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Kathleen Souhrada of Johnston, Iowa, and John and Donnine Souhrada of Keller, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jeff Voss of Bellevue; seven grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Cindy Souhrada of Delta Junction, Alaska. He grew up in Verdigre and graduated from Verdigre High School in 1957. Jerry and Judy lived on a farm near Verdigre. In 1970, they moved to Chapman, and three years later they moved to Central City. Jerry worked at the grain elevator in Chapman until 1978, then at Cargill in Central City, and the Aurora Co-op. He retired in 2002, and moved to Burwell in 2005. Jerry loved to go fishing and hunting, camping and gardening. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
