Born April 9, 1936, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Lynn T. and Evelyn T. (Weimer) Browning. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Helbig. He was a member of the Deer Park United Methodist Church, where he served as the Sunday school superintendent and a teacher. Born April 9, 1936, in Oakland, he was the son of the late Lynn T. and Evelyn T. (Weimer) Browning. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Helbig. He was a member of the Deer Park United Methodist Church, where he served as the Sunday school superintendent and a teacher. He retired in 1986 after 31 years of service with CSX Railroad as a tower operator and was a member of the Transportation-Communications International Union. A U.S. Army veteran serving from 1962 to 1963, he was a member of the Proctor Kildow Post 71, American Legion, Oakland. He was a former mayor of the town of Deer Park, was an active supporter of the Deer Park Community Volunteer Fire Dept., and was a former bass drummer for the Garrett College Pipes and Drums. He was a member of Lodge 11, WOW, and was a member and adult leader of the Country Kids 4-H Club. His family was voted a Garrett County Family of the Year. He is survived by his wife, [name withheld]; one daughter, [name withheld], Cumberland; one son, [name withheld], Oakland; and two sisters, [name withheld], Bedford Heights, Ohio, and Wilma McCrobie, Newnan, Ga. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was held at the Deer Park United Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 19, with the Rev. Neil Parsons and the Rev. L. Joseph Robinette officiating. Interment was in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. Military honors were accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans' organizations in southern Garrett County.
