The funeral had been postponed because of blizzard conditions on Saturday. In charge of the services was the Rev. Charles Livingston of Hastings. Jess Ziegler was born May 19, 1884 at Rulo, Nebraska, and died March 19, 1952, at the age of 67 years and 10 months. He had worked in his carpenter shop all day, his lifeless body was found there about six o’clock the same evening. Just before his death he had delivered a rocking chair he had repaired to the Blue Hill Furniture store. Mr. Ziegler’s health had not been good for several months. Following the carpenter trade he worked for the Burlington railroad in his youth as a bridge carpenter, coming to Blue Hill in 1909 where he has since made his home. In 1910 her was united in marriage to Miss Stella Bostock and to this union two children were born. They are LaVerne of Fort Laramie, Wyoming, and Mrs. Eleanor Koch of Hastings. Mr. Ziegler was a member of the Blue Hill Christian church, having been baptized in 1913. He was also a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge. Besides his wife and children, five grandchildren survive. They are Carol Ann, James Rodney and Richard Allen Ziegler; Mary Donella and Dannie Lee Koch. Blue Hill Leader 28 Mar 1952 Front Page
