The above information was provided by: P Sherman (#46933584). February 22, 2017 I have also found this information to be true about Jesse Hugo Weston. Confirmation of the date of death was also made through the funeral home. The 1870 census shows Hugo born in Wyoming and age 2. The California Death Index confirms the dates of birth and death. Hugo's marriage record (from Mancos, Colorado) to Jeanie Ptolemy shows the marriage date as 21 APR 1909 and that Hugo is 41 years of age. Above are some of the biggest reasons I've listed his dates as they are. It's possible that a mistake was made on the headstone and never caught or whoever put the headstone was mistaken on the dates. Interestingly enough, the dates shown on the headstone indicate the proper age. Another interesting note is that Hugo is not buried in either of the Weston areas of the cemetery. His wife is buried near the Weston's but Hugo appears to be buried in an area with other Masons. According to a book in the Mancos Visitors Center, in which memories of the people in each grave were recounted, Hugo served as water Commissioner for many years and as Master of the Mancos Masonic Lodge for four different years.
