Born in Grant, Va., he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Emma Parks Murray. His wife was the late Ruby Testerman Murray. He is survived by four daughters, Peggy M. Ballard of Bel Air, Audrey L. Stallard of Aberdeen, Virginia W. Lobe of Richmond, Va., and Elizabeth L. McCarron of Gaithersburg, Md., two brothers, Richard C. Murray of Elkton and John W. Murray of Troutdale, Va.; three sisters, Stella Reedy of Sugar Grove, Va., Viola Phipps of Charlestown, W.Va., and Clyde Curran of Lynsburg, W.Va.; also 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Howard K. McComas III Funeral Home, P.A., Abingdon, on Tuesday, March 29 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gerald T. Brown officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Joppa. Pallbearers were U. Sean McCarron, Milas H. Ballard, Douglas H. Lobe, Ted R. Stallard, Jeffrey S. Hayes and Roger L. Halsey.
