Read More	Brooklyn (IA) Chronicle; March 4, 1926 DEATH ENDS SUFFERING FOR JESSIE ALICE NORRIS Jessie Alice Norris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Norris, passed away at her home in Brooklyn, Iowa, Tuesday evening, March 2, 1926. She was born in Montezuma, Iowa, October 14, 1909. For the past nine years she lived at Upton, Wyoming, and moved here with her parents last fall. She was afflicted with the disease Sarcoma, from which she suffered untold agonies for the past six months. At times it seemed she could not stand the pain, and wondered why, as an innocent girl, she must suffer such agony. Her mother would say, "Jesus had to suffer and He was innocent of any wrong. Job, too, was called upon to suffer affliction and he had committed no sin." These replies seemed to satisfy her inquiring mind, and she would ask God to take her. We cannot answer the question, "Why?" All we ask is "Do we appreciate what God is doing for us? Is Christ our Savior." Jessie was baptized and united with the Methodist Church January 10, 1926. She is today "Safe in the arms of Jesus. Safe in His gentle care." She leaves to mourn her death her two grandmothers, Mrs. Fred Affolter of Brooklyn and Mrs. John Norris of Montezuma, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Norris, and five sisters living in Upton, Wyoming, Mrs. Ina Price, Mrs. Lillie Butts, Mrs. Grace Cookston, Mrs. Mary Chapman, Mrs. Lila Johnston, and one sister at York, Nebraska, Mrs. Naomi Price, besides two brothers, Fred Norris of Grinnell and Ralph of Brooklyn, and, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church Thursday afternoon, by Rev. W.J. Fowler. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
