Mr. Poston was born April 24, 1919, in Florence County, a son of the late Eulee Barnhill Poston and J. R. Poston of Johnsonville. He was married for sixty-eight years to his beloved wife, Ola Stone Poston, who passed away on October 1, 2004. Read More	JOHNSONVILLE: Mr. Jessie Deleon Poston, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 2, 2012, following a long illness. Mr. Poston was born April 24, 1919, in Florence County, a son of the late Eulee Barnhill Poston and J. R. Poston of Johnsonville. He was married for sixty-eight years to his beloved wife, Ola Stone Poston, who passed away on October 1, 2004. Mr. Poston was a retired farmer and charter member of Mill Branch Original Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a faithful and dedicated member. He enjoyed growing vegetables to share with everyone who lived in and around his community. One of the many things he was known for was his love of fishing, especially in the family pond. He is survived by three daughters, Margaret P. (Carlton) Lyerly and Pansy P. Lowe, both of Florence, and Dean P. Richardson of Johnsonville; two sons, Billy (Juanita) Poston and Danny (Midge) Poston of Johnsonville; four brothers, Burnie Poston and Ludie Poston, both of Johnsonville, and Odell Poston and Leon Poston, both of Florence; his adopted sister, Georgia Poston Dorrell of Effingham; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; eleven great, great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces, nephews, and special friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie P. Cagle Graham; a grandson, Rodney Shane Poston; a granddaughter, Cindy Lyerly Tyler; and eight brothers, Weldon, Raleigh, Manley, Archie, Narvel, Clarence, Ervin and Zannie Poston. Visitation will be at Mill Branch Original Free Will Baptist Church, 224 Evans Road, Johnsonville, SC, from 3:00 – 4:30 P.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2012; with funeral services following at 5:00 P.M. in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in the Mill Branch Cemetery, directed by Carolina Funeral Home of Scranton, SC. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 1203 East Cheves Street, P. O. Box 10051, Florence, SC 29502-0051. The family sincerely appreciates the loving care given to Mr. Poston by Dr. Conyers O'Bryan, Dr. Rajesh Malik, Dr. Mark Fox, Lisa Estes, RN, Lisa Miles, RN, Leah Howell, Social Worker, Charlene Smoot, Hospice Aide, and Hospice Chaplain, Rev. Glenn Carter, and the entire McLeod Hospice Staff.
