A longtime Strong resident, Jessie was born August 23, 1913, in Marion, Louisiana to Derrell Wolf Hollis and Mary Alice Parker Hollis. He retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department and was a member and elder at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church for many years. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Mildred Norvelle Hollis.
