Died in the same County Feb. 19, 1901, aged 29 years, 9 months and 5 days. She has lived all her life in Fayette County, Ia. When ten years old her parents moved to Taylorville. Here on the 14th day of March, 1894, she was united in marriage to Orange Rawson. For nearly seven years she has been a faithful and loving wife and will be sorely missed from the home which she has cheered and blessed with her beautiful christian character. About eleven years ago, under Bro. Carlton's preaching, she gave her heart to the Lord and united with the Methodist Church. Her dying words have given full proof of her acceptance with God. The power of God was so wonderfully and beautifully manifested in her soul that all her loved ones and friends and neighbors all are assured that she has only gone from the Church militant to join the Church triumphant. After hearing her victorious testimony, we are sure many if not all the friends are repeating the words of my text - Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his. One after another she called her loved ones and friends to her bedside and they will remember through life her words of comfort, advice and pleadings. When entering one of her sinking spells, without any one saying a word, she said, "He keeps me in perfect peace." At another time, "Oh God how I love thee." She was ready, without a fear or a quiver in her soul, and her sole concerned seemed to be for others. SHe threw her arms around one of her neighbors, and said, "Give your heart to Jesus now and when you are dying as I am, he will be with you." She said, " I have prayed for all my neighbors around here and wish them to follow me." She did not like to leave her loved ones. She said, "I do not like to leave father and mother when they need me so much." But when her mother asked her how she could get along without her, she smiled and said, "I am going where you will see me always." Surely this sainted wife, daughter, and sister has left a legacy to husband, father, mother, brothers, sisters, friends and neighbors of priceless value. Though her spirit has departed, her life and testimony are still here and like Abel they will speak and bear fruit for generations. One is led to think of Sampson, who accomplished more in his death than during his life. The funeral was held last Thursday afternoon in the M.E. church and was preached by Rev. Kidder.
