Description	:	Troy – Jessie S. Mitchell, 83, of the Cross Road, died Monday, November 15, 1993, at a Waterville hospital following a long hard fight against cancer. She was born in Malden, Mass., October 25, 1910, the daughter of Earl S. and Beatrice Vroom Thompson Sr. An active member of this community, for many years she and her late husband Manley Mitchell drove school buses. Read More	Troy – Jessie S. Mitchell, 83, of the Cross Road, died Monday, November 15, 1993, at a Waterville hospital following a long hard fight against cancer. She was born in Malden, Mass., October 25, 1910, the daughter of Earl S. and Beatrice Vroom Thompson Sr. An active member of this community, for many years she and her late husband Manley Mitchell drove school buses. She was also a cook at Unity College and other area schools. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, beano and golf. She was a past Worthy Matron of the O.E.S. of Unity, a member of the Rebekahs, Seven Star Grange of Troy, the Troy Fireman's Auxiliary, the Troy Snowmobile Club as well as being active in the Troy Senior Citizen's Club and a past president of the Waterville Singles Club. Her husband, Manley Mitchell, one son, Harland Mitchell, a very good friend, Stacey sands, and a grandson, Donald Mitchell, Jr., all died previously. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Linda Mitchell of Troy, Darrold and Barbara Mitchell of Bucksport, and Harold and Virginia Mitchell of Norman, Okla.; four sisters, Arlene Knight, Audrey Ward, Priscilla Elliot and Dorothy Mitchell; a brother, Earl S. Thompson Jr.; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, Unity, where friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery in Troy.
