Description	:	Jewell Catherine Forgey was born without a birth certificate. There are no records of her birth or where. Nothing that has her mothers or fathers name either. Her mother died when she was young. No one remembered her birth date and therefore she adopted Feb 12th as her birthday. When her mother died Jake remarried and neither of them were able to tell her what her birthday was as she grew up. This is the day she chose and went with. We believe 1913 to be her year, but this could be wrong based on her true birth... Read More	Jewell Catherine Forgey was born without a birth certificate. There are no records of her birth or where. We believe 1913 to be her year, but this could be wrong based on her true birth month. She believed 1913 to be true. These were her words. Her oldest child said Jewels mothers name was Catherine from what she had be told and from what Jewell remembered being told. On some census records she has the middle initial "I". According to marriage dates to Jake Cross; her mother would have been Ida Brock. I have DNA tested many members of our family including children and grandchildren of hers and the "Brock" name does not appear to match our DNA. The Cross name is definitive. The Brock name not matching could be that she had a different mother perhaps, her mother was adopted, maybe she was an only child, perhaps she came down through a line of females with name changes, a name change of her mother, or etc. (I only mention this to clarify my above statement.)
