"Nanny" Phillips, 87 went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 16, 1994. She had been in the Stillwater Convalescent Center the last three months and previously resided at Froser Tower in Billings. She was born March 16, 1907, at Canyon, Texas to Evleret and Minnie Laughery. She married Edward Phillips in 1925 and they had two daughters, Gwen and Colleen. Colleen died at age 20 months. She worked at the Hart-Albin Company and 25 years at Hopper's Floral. Her church was uppermost in her heart as well as her love for her family. She was loved by everyone she met. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Jepthah Chapter, O.E. S. at Worden. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Gwen and Rudy Strobbe; granddaughters and their husbands, Beth and Jon Clay and Edwina "Eddi" and Darrell Rawden; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and a sister in law Eva Laughery. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, in 1956; her parents; four brothers and two sisters. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday August 19 at the Lockwood Evangelical Church, 1413 Rosebud Lane. Private interment of urn will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or charity of choice. Smith's Downtown Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
