Description	:	Jimmie "Jim" Bloom, 68, passed away at his home on August 31, 2008 after a brief illness. Jim was born on August 29, 1940 in Spanish Fort, Mississippi to the late R.F. and Ethel (Dedmon) Bloom. Jim attended Colorado Springs High School and was a proud Westside Colorado Springs community member for most of his life. Jim was born on August 29, 1940 in Spanish Fort, Mississippi to the late R.F. and Ethel (Dedmon) Bloom. Jim attended Colorado Springs High School and was a proud Westside Colorado Springs community member for most of his life. Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Bloom; his 3 children: Debbie (Regina) Bloom of Belgium, Pam (Bill) Shinkle of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jimmie (Shea) Bloom of Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as his grandchildren: Amanda, Josh, Sarah (Ian), Jordan, Dillon, Tucker and Dani. Jim is also survived by his brother, Frank (Scheryl) Bloom and sisters; Sue (John) Baldwin and Martha Hudson along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, XO Bloom. Jim treasured his family and loved being around people. Jim owned a house moving business, worked for the City of Colorado Springs and Weicker Moving and Storage. He was a member of the Eagles Club and had a passion for restoring old cars, particularly old Chevy's. He was the original owner of Bloom's Tavern and thoroughly enjoyed spending time there with his many Westside friends and neighbors. The family is grateful for the support given to them by so many family and friends, as well as the care provided by Pikes Peak Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice or organization of your choice in his name. Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Blunts Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Living Springs Worship Centre, 640 Manitou Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO, 80904. Internment at Fairview Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
