Description	:	Jimmie Lou "Jim" Lindstrom, of rural Atlanta, Nebraska, passed away March 4, 2007 at his farm west of Atlanta. Jim was born September 2, 1937 in Holdrege, the eldest of three children of Eugene and Rosa "June" (Schlem) Lindstrom. Jim was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. Jim received his primary education at District #8 South Sacramento School and then graduated from Wilcox High School with the class of 1955. He then pursued higher education at Hastings College. Read More	Jimmie Lou "Jim" Lindstrom, of rural Atlanta, Nebraska, passed away March 4, 2007 at his farm west of Atlanta. Jim was born September 2, 1937 in Holdrege, the eldest of three children of Eugene and Rosa "June" (Schlem) Lindstrom. Jim was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. Jim received his primary education at District #8 South Sacramento School and then graduated from Wilcox High School with the class of 1955. He then pursued higher education at Hastings College. Jim was inducted into the United States Marine Corps on November 27, 1956 until his honorable discharge on November 7, 1958. On August 16, 1959 he was united in marriage to Edith "Edee" Holmes at the First Christian Church in Elm Creek and to this union four children were born: Daniel, Troy, Cheryl and Jeffrey. The family made their home at Funk, Nebraska, where Jim worked as a mechanic at Lundquist Brothers. In 1960, they moved to the farm west of Atlanta, where Jim engaged in a farm and livestock operation. Jim was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, where he served two terms as elder, involved in the Prairie Schooners Club and served as an usher for many years. Jim was also involved in the community through the years including: serving on the Holdrege CO-OP Board, Phelps County Fair Board, Loomis School Board, Phelps County Zoning Committee, the Rock Falls / Industry Township Board, the Wheat Growers Association and he enjoyed the friendship bonds formed through selling seed corn for many years. He enjoyed fishing, loved attending his grandchildren's activities and listening to Big Band music. Jim leaves to mourn his passing: wife, Edith "Edee" of Atlanta, Nebraska; children: Dan Lindstrom and his wife, Carol of Kearney, Nebraska, Troy Lindstrom of Loomis, Cheryl Canaday of Pierce, Nebraska and Jeff Lindstrom and his wife, Brenda of Kearney; grandchildren: Sam, Will and Kate Lindstrom, Tyler, A.J. and Parker Lindstrom, Jonathan and Kristin Canaday and Ella and Ava Lindstrom; brother, Gary Lindstrom and his wife, Cindy of Wilcox; sister, Sandra Wimer and her husband, C.L. of Hastings; and a host of relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by: parents. Interment was in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, NE.
