March 6, 1939 - February 14, 2014 Jimmy Carrol Lawson Jimmy Carrol Lawson, 74, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday Feb. 14, 2014, from a heart attack. He was born Mar. 6, 1939, at home in Joy, Ark., to Edgar and Pearl Lawson. He attended school in Romance, Arkansas, but quit school at a young age to help his father on the farm after his dad had surgery. Lawson moved to Washington in 1954, where he started in orchard work in Chelan. Later he moved to Brewster, working at Lakeside Orchard. In 1959 he owned and operated the Rainbow Station in Brewster for a short time. Through the years he worked various jobs including Shull’s Camper Shop, Brewster Hospital as a maintenance worker and the Texaco Station. In 1970, he worked at Grand Coulee Dam and moved to Omak. He started Double O Campers in the 1970’s. Later he worked as a body man at Damskov Ford. Following that, he worked at Omak Wood Products for 10 years, retiring after a fall there. Jimmy met and married Norma Anderson of Okanogan in 1956. Together they had five children, Timmy, Debra, Kathy, Kelly and Martin. He and Norma raised a grandson, Kailer Lawson. Jimmy was a hard worker all of his life, sometimes working two jobs, and long hours while raising his family. Jimmy had been a Missionary Baptist minister since 1970. He attended the Douglas Street Missionary Baptist Church for 20 years and drove to Wenatchee to attended the Eastside Baptist Church for ten years. Jimmy bowled in various leagues and was a member of the Chief Joseph Gem and Mineral Club, serving as president until this year. He was also a member of the Wenatchee Rock Club. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma; daughters, Debra (Andy) Lampe, Kathy (Greg) Talmadge, of Omak; sons, Kelly (Tatiana) Lawson, of Yakima, Martin Lawson, of Omak; ten grandchildren, Jenny (Steven) Justesen, of Sandpoint, Idaho, Justin Judd, of Omak, Shelby Lampe, of Moses Lake, Drew Lampe, of Wenatchee, Toscia and Blair Talmadge, both of Texas, Bailey (Hunter) Fisher, of Omak, Joshua and Codey Lawson, of Montana, and Kailer Lawson, of Omak; six great-grandchildren, Jaden, Samantha, Jacob, Ella, Dillon, Allison and two on the way; brother, Hubert Lawson, of Okanogan; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Timmy Carrol; parents, Edgar Pearl Lawson-Vess; and step-father Albert Vess.
