Born September 11, 1939, in Florence County, Jimmy was the son of the late Charlton F. and Nona McDaniel Poston. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Jimmy loved to cook, grow plants and flowers, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a graduate of Hannah High School. Born September 11, 1939, in Florence County, Jimmy was the son of the late Charlton F. and Nona McDaniel Poston. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Jimmy loved to cook, grow plants and flowers, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a graduate of Hannah High School. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Joyce Poston; sons, Neil (Cathy) Poston of Pamplico and Scott (Vickie) Poston of Scranton; grandchildren, Jaye Poston of Charleston, Jillian Poston of Clemson, Andrew Poston of Pamplico, John Scott Poston of Pamplico, and Stacy Lightfoot of Lancaster, CA; brothers, Charles Poston and Teddy Poston, both of Pamplico; and sisters, JoAnn (Joe) Poston of Pamplico and Marie Lesesne of Florence. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brandie Reynolds and staff of Coleman Family Practice and the CVI/ICU staff at Carolinas Hospital System. Funeral services, conducted by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 4:00PM Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00PM – 8:00PM Monday, August 6, 2012. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 756 N. Pamplico Highway, Pamplico, SC, 29583.
