Description	:	It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Beatrice Bezanson, 84, of Bridgewater and formerly of Lunenburg for many years, announces her passing on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the QE11 Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Mahone Bay, on June 24, 1928, Joan was the daughter of the late Simeon and Beatrice (Awalt) Crossland. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Douglas, daughters, Valerie (Bryan) Alinard, Bridgewater, Tonia (Gary) Walters, Bridgewater and Lori (Daryl) Joudrey, Maitland; grandsons, Adam (Alexandra), Justin (Kimberley), Shawn (Shelly), Jonathan; great-grand-daughters, Jesse and Hannah, loving sisters, Betty Schwartz,... Read More	It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Beatrice Bezanson, 84, of Bridgewater and formerly of Lunenburg for many years, announces her passing on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the QE11 Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Mahone Bay, on June 24, 1928, Joan was the daughter of the late Simeon and Beatrice (Awalt) Crossland. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Douglas, daughters, Valerie (Bryan) Alinard, Bridgewater, Tonia (Gary) Walters, Bridgewater and Lori (Daryl) Joudrey, Maitland; grandsons, Adam (Alexandra), Justin (Kimberley), Shawn (Shelly), Jonathan; great-grand-daughters, Jesse and Hannah, loving sisters, Betty Schwartz, Bridgewater and Iris Tanner, Mahone Bay and many nieces and nephews. Simply put Joan was her husband’s rock. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she loved having young people in her life. We were all welcome to stop by anytime and knew she would have a smile for us. Despite her health problems our mother had such a wonderful attitude about life. Her daughters are so thankful for the zest living and laughter she possessed and hope we can continue on in her manner. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her grand-daughter, Janelle. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A Graveside and Committal Service for family and close friends will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg, Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital, MS Society of Nova Scotia or to the Huntington’s Society. Contributor: Angie Mckay-Drew.
