Joan earned a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Wesleyan University and taught 2nd grade at Ashland/Greenwood for more than 30 years. She was a longtime member of Ithaca United Methodist Church where she was active with the annual Church Bazaar, and she ensured that the church was always beautifully decorated with flowers. Joan had a lifetime commitment to her church, neighbors and the Ithaca community.
