Description	:	Joan Sorg Batt, 80, of Billings (formerly of Laurel) passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. Joan was born on June 1, 1932, in Park City, Mont., the daughter of Stan and Helen Pearsall. She grew up and received her schooling in Park City, and attended Eastern Montana College for one year. In June of 1952, Joan married Robert (Bob) Sorg in Laurel. They lived in Laurel, where she worked for Wold's, then Gust's, and also served as President of the Laurel Chamber of Commerce while raising five boys. Bob passed away in April of 1976. Joan married Ruben... Read More	Joan Sorg Batt, 80, of Billings (formerly of Laurel) passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. Joan was born on June 1, 1932, in Park City, Mont., the daughter of Stan and Helen Pearsall. She grew up and received her schooling in Park City, and attended Eastern Montana College for one year. In June of 1952, Joan married Robert (Bob) Sorg in Laurel. They lived in Laurel, where she worked for Wold's, then Gust's, and also served as President of the Laurel Chamber of Commerce while raising five boys. Bob passed away in April of 1976. Joan married Ruben Batt in 1982. They lived in Laurel for a number of years before moving to Billings. Joan and Ruben enjoyed traveling around the U.S. as well as Europe and Mexico. Joan was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Laurel where she enjoyed being a member of the choir. She was an excellent seamstress, a wonderful pianist, and was very fond of her volunteer work. She had a sharp wit, great sense of humor, loved shopping, and always looked at the positive in every situation. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, her husband Ruben, and granddaughter Christie. She is survived by five sons and their families: Rick (Marlane) Sorg of Billings, granddaughters Sara and Rebecca, and great-granddaughter Piper; Kent (Coby Phillips) Sorg of Bozeman, grandsons David, Brian, and Eric; Steve (Debby) Sorg of Billings, grandsons Andy and Nick; Mark (Georgia) Sorg of Billings, granddaughters Megan and Allison; Ron Sorg of Billings, and grandson Mike. She is also survived by four stepsons, Curtis Batt of California, David (Lita) Batt of Missoula, John Batt of Montana, and Greg Batt of Laurel. She has one brother, Roger (Jenell) Pearsall of Tennessee, and their family. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. Johns Church in Laurel. Interment will be in the Laurel Cemetery. Goodbye, Mom, we all love you and we will miss you every day, as will everyone who has had the pleasure of having you in their life.
