Description	:	Joan “Joann” Tresch, 82, passed away after a home accident at the St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, CO surrounded by her family on the morning of January 1, 2018. She was born June 8, 1935 in Kenmare, ND to Sarah (Jonasson) & Clarence Bergerson. Joan was raised mostly in North Dakota, however, spent time in Seattle, WA and then moved to Lodge Grass, MT for her senior year of high school. Read More	Joan “Joann” Tresch, 82, passed away after a home accident at the St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, CO surrounded by her family on the morning of January 1, 2018. She was born June 8, 1935 in Kenmare, ND to Sarah (Jonasson) & Clarence Bergerson. Joan was raised mostly in North Dakota, however, spent time in Seattle, WA and then moved to Lodge Grass, MT for her senior year of high school. Shortly after her graduation her parents moved to Lewistown, MT and Joan began her education at the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lewistown, MT to become an RN. Into her second year of nursing school she met Julius R Tresch “Dick” on a blind date in December 1954. They married in June of 1956 shortly after Joan graduated from Nursing School, and were happily married for 53 years. She is survived by her sister; four children; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Julius M Tresch; parents; and sister, Diane Tuss. Joann initially worked part time for the Central Montana Hospital after graduation. She and Dick rented several ranches within Fergus County before purchasing the Burke Dairy in 1966. They operated their dairy business for 28 years. She was employed full time for 31 years with the Montana Center for the Aged; the last ten years were in supervision. At the time of her retirement, Joann was presented, by the Governor of MT, Marc Racicot, an acknowledgment for “Years of service in the field of mental health for the elderly.” Joann also volunteered with the St. Francis Guild, assisted with funeral luncheons, and was a Eucharistic Minster at St. Leo’s.
