Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Panora, Ia. Joan was born August 4, 1932 in Rockwell, Iowa to H.J. (Herman) and Anna Wearda. She married Elmer Bohl in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1979. Joan married Michael Kelly from Sydney Australia in 2002. She is survived by her husband, Michael Kelly; sons Michael (Julia), John, David (Nora) Bohl and Dennis Michael Werda; sister Ruth (Jim) Rossi; and nine grandchildren. She loved walking, bicycling, traveling, and genealogy. She had particularly fond memories of her family's years in Panora and Lake Panorama and more recently, the time spent with her husband Michael Kelly, in Sydney, Australia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Taylor House Hospice, 3401 E. Douglas Ave., Des Moines, Iowa 50317. ----------- *Note: Joan was married to Michael Kelly in 2002. Michael Kelly returned to Australia after her death. He died in 2016.
