Description	:	JoAnn Ernst, 78, of Lincoln, Nebraska, (formerly of Columbus, Nebraska) died Friday, January 11, 2013, in Lincoln, Nebraska. A Celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 14, 2:00 P.M. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lincoln (3825 Wildbriar Ln. - south of Hwy 2 off of 40th St.) with Rev. Lance Berndt officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 P.M. on Monday at the church. There will be a private family burial in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery in rural Columbus. JoAnn Irene Ernst was born October 25, 1934, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Paul Gerhard and Lucy Irene (Loseke) Frese. She attended Christ Lutheran grade school and graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus in 1952. She married Herman Ernst upon his upon his return from the Korean War on August 6, 1954, at Christ Lutheran. She worked at Sears in Columbus. JoAnn and Herman lived in Columbus until 2001 when they moved to Lincoln. They were members of Immanuel Lutheran church in Columbus, and then transferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran in Lincoln. JoAnn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Columbus, and a past president. JoAnn is survived by: Daughter - Carol Ernst (Hap Gates) of Lincoln, NE Son - Keith (Jeannie) Ernst of Lincoln, NE Daughter - Kyla (Jason) Yager of Lincoln, NE One grandchild - Ashlee Ernst Step grandchildren and step great grandchildren Brother - Donald Frese of Norfolk, NE Sister-in-law - Elizabeth Frese of Columbus, NE Brother-in-law - Alvin Rickert of Columbus, NE Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law June and Elmo Reed of Green Bay, WI, and Elizabeth and William Grant of Columbus, NE Nieces and nephews JoAnn was preceded in death by: Husband - Herman Ernst in 2004 Parents – Paul and Lucy Frese Sister Mabel Rickert Brother - Lawrence Frese Infant brother - Paul Gerhard Frese
