Description	:	Joanna Bunch was the first wife of Melvin Lorenzo Dowell "M. L." Snavely. His second wife, formerly Mary Glandon, is buried beside her. Joanna's first husband was James Franklin Goodman, her first cousin once removed,* whom she married on April 1, 1894, in Anderson County, Tennessee (she was his third wife). He was born on March 26, 1870 (family Bible date), in Scott County, Tennessee, and was shot to death on December 25, 1894 (court record date), by Ramsey and William Daugherty during a trial in Anderson County (he was a Scott County constable). ... Joanna's first husband was James Franklin Goodman, her first cousin once removed,* whom she married on April 1, 1894, in Anderson County, Tennessee (she was his third wife). He was born on March 26, 1870 (family Bible date), in Scott County, Tennessee, and was shot to death on December 25, 1894 (court record date), by Ramsey and William Daugherty during a trial in Anderson County (he was a Scott County constable). He was supposed to have been buried in his native Scott County. He was the son of John and Jane "Jennie" (Low/Lowe) Goodman. Joanna married her second husband, William Rosencran Miller (1864-1950), on December 16, 1899, in Anderson County where she divorced him in 1909 (she left the children with him). (William is buried in Sumter Cemetery, Sumter, South Carolina.) She married her third and last husband, Melvin (1876-1951), a coal miner and an eventual studio photographer, on February 24, 1915, in Campbell County, Tennessee. (Melvin is buried in Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport, Tennessee.) She was the mother of the following children: 1) Roscoe Goodman (1895-1978), Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado; 2) Dewey Miller (later "Ellis") (1898-1973), Los Angeles National Cemetery, Los Angeles, California; 3) Stella Frances (Miller) Hurst (1900-1969), Sumter Cemetery; 4) Virgil Rosencran Miller** (1900-1971), Kingsburg Cemetery, Kingsburg, California; 5) Della Mae (Miller) Ricker/Watson (1903-1990); 6) Bessie Bunch (Miller) Becker (1904-1981); 7) William Floyd "Jack" Miller (1906-1939), Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, Gridley, California; 8) James Elmer Snavely (1911); and 9) Cleo (Snavely) Wagner/Milam (1914-1992), Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn, Georgia. According to her niece Mellie Bunch (1909-2006), Joanna died of double pneumonia fever (a death record wasn't filed.) (Franklin's mother was a younger sister to Joanna's maternal grandfather, Andrew Low.) (Anderson County Circuit Court Civil Minutes, Vol. 4 [Feb. 1905-May 1912], pp. 381 & 382.) (**According to her siblings' ages in the 1900 Anderson County Census [thirteenth district], Stella's correct year of birth was 1899. Virgil was listed as "Ramsey" in the same census.)
