Description	:	Joanne Lindly Hardy passed away May 19, 2016, in Kearney, at the age of 82 years and 20 days. Joanne was born on April 29, 1934, to Lloyd and Leona (Doman) Lindly in Anselmo. Joanne grew up on the Lindly Farm at Anselmo. She attended grade school at Keota. Joanne attended high school at Curtis and graduated in 1952. Read More	Joanne Lindly Hardy passed away May 19, 2016, in Kearney, at the age of 82 years and 20 days. Joanne was born on April 29, 1934, to Lloyd and Leona (Doman) Lindly in Anselmo. Joanne grew up on the Lindly Farm at Anselmo. She attended grade school at Keota. Joanne attended high school at Curtis and graduated in 1952. While in high school, Joanne took normal training that allowed her to teach school. Joanne taught school for two years at the Farritor School near Victoria Springs and one year at Windy Point north of Anselmo. Joanne married Albert Hardy on May 29, 1955, in Anselmo. Joanne and Albert were blessed with three children, Jerry, Nancy, and Jim. Joanne and Albert lived in Kearney, Broken Bow and Thedford before coming home to Anselmo. Joanne worked at Scott’s Market for 21 years and when the market sold, continued to work for Kastens’ Market for 7 years. She retired in 1992. Joanne was very active in the Community Club. She helped put up the Community Booth at the Custer County Fair for many years. Joanne was a 50 plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star, serving as an officer in every station. Joanne attended church every Sunday at the United Methodist Church and served on many committees for the church. Joanne had many favorite pastimes. She loved crossword puzzles. She was a genius at putting together 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles. Her very favorite pastime was giving to others. If one were to ask, “What do you remember about Joanne?”, each person would most definitely reply, “her giving and sharing.” She sent at least two cards a week to friends and grandchildren. She made many pillows and quillows for family and extended family. Joanne baked pies and bread for friends. She did all these things because that is who Joanne was. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold Lindly; and son, Jerry Hardy. Joanne is survived by her husband, Albert; daughter, Nancy Hardy, of Anselmo; son, Jim (Elizabeth) Hardy, of Hastings; daughter-in-law, Becky Hardy, of Ainsworth; three grandchildren, Christina (Tony) Buckles, Brandon (Tea) Hardy and Samantha Hardy; three great-grandchildren, Monroe and Sutton Buckles and Max Hardy; four step-grandchildren, Blake, Paige, Reilly and Reid Fahrenholtz; brother, Robert (Darlyne) Lindly; sister-in-law, Helen Lindly, of Anselmo; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorials are suggested to the Anselmo United Methodist Church or to the family for later designation. Birth is a beginning And death a destination And life is a journey; A sacred journey to life everlasting. Joanne had a great journey and enhanced many, many other people’s journeys. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 23, at Goviers Chapel in Broken Bow with the Rev. Bill Williams officiating. Burial will be at the New Helena Cemetery near Victoria Springs. Govier Brothers, Broken Bow is in charge of the arrangements.
