Description	:	JoAnne Louise Ellison joined the Lord in Heaven on Saturday, March 24, 2007. She was born in her family home in Butte on Dec. 4, 1934, to Fritz and Dorothy (O'Neil) Daily. JoAnne was raised in Butte and worked her first waitressing job in Butte after earning an education from Butte Central High School. She later moved to Anaconda where she married Eugene Verlanic on Sept. 24, 1966. They raised their family together until Eugene passed away in 1982. Read More	JoAnne Louise Ellison joined the Lord in Heaven on Saturday, March 24, 2007. She was born in her family home in Butte on Dec. 4, 1934, to Fritz and Dorothy (O'Neil) Daily. JoAnne was raised in Butte and worked her first waitressing job in Butte after earning an education from Butte Central High School. She later moved to Anaconda where she married Eugene Verlanic on Sept. 24, 1966. They raised their family together until Eugene passed away in 1982. JoAnne loved caring for others, as evidenced by her large family and life long career in waitressing. She worked at the Montana Hotel, The Hide-A-Way and finally retired from the Park Café in 1998. JoAnne enjoyed traveling and volunteering. She followed her sons and the neighborhood boys as a volunteer with AAU Wrestling and American Legion Baseball. She spent the last seventeen years happily married to Arthur Ellison. They joined lives on June 18, 1990. Art and JoAnne spent much of their time raising their grandson, John Bailey. Her family of five children, 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren fondly referred to her as "Nana Nuke." JoAnne was an active member in the Anaconda Catholic Community, serving on the RCIA team, teaching Religious Education and volunteering on the Funeral luncheon committee. She also served on the Anaconda Deer Lodge County Planning Board and the Montana Veterans Cemetery Board. JoAnne and Art shared a passion for serving veterans. As a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, she served as Past Unit President, Past District President, Past State President, and even as the National Executive Committee Woman. She traveled the country for her American Legion commitments. Other interests and hobbies of JoAnne's were shopping, quilting, singing, camping and cross-country skiing. She was an excellent cook and valued handing down family recipes. She was a strong, proud and genuine individual. JoAnne is now reunited with her son, Ron Remark and sister, Cari Somers in Heaven. She leaves behind her siblings, Dotty Schafer, Jim and Mitzi Daily, Fritz and Gay Daily, Bill and Ann Daily, and Mary and Steve Sullivan; children, Janice and Charlie Bloom, LaRita Remark, Jeannette Stembridge, Bill and LeAnn Verlanic, Ann Bailey, John "Bud" and Amy Verlanic; and husband, Art, who lovingly remember her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorials be made to the American Legion Legacy Fund, P.O. Box 650, Helena, 59601 and/or Pintler Hospice, Anaconda. Funeral Mass for JoAnne will be celebrated from St. Peters Catholic Church, Wednesday morning, March 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow the Mass. Graveside inurnment services will be held at New Hill Cemetery, at 1 p.m Thursday, March 29, 2007. Parish Vigil service will be conducted from the Anaconda Chapel of KT Riddle Funeral Homes, at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Visitation/wake will be held in the funeral home Tuesday between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m., with additional visitation Wednesday morning between 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
