Description	:	A freak farm accident claimed the life of 4 year old Joanne Louise Schulze last Thursday, October 11, at the farm home three miles southeast of Hordville. The little girl was with her grandfather in the farm yard and near an elevator. The hopper of the elevator was up when a sudden gust of wind dislodged it. As it fell it struck the child a glancing blow on the temple. The mishap occurred about 9:30 o'clock in the morning. She was taken to Hord Memorial hospital in Central City where she passed away three hours later. The daughter of Lavern and Elaine Schulze, she was born September 2, 1952, in Central City. In infancy she was brought to the Lord through baptism, attending Sunday school for seven months preceding her death. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 14 at Immanuel Lutheran church of Polk with the Rev. Walter Synatschk officiating. The choir sang, "I Am Jesus' Little Lamb" and "Tender Shepherd Thou Hast Stilled:, under the direction of A.C. Aufenkamp. Pallbearers were Gwynuel Johnson, John David Suhr, Gene Holscher and LeMoyne Waak. Interment was made in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Polk. Survivors include her parents, a brother Kelvin of Hordville: grandparents, Henry Schulze of Hordville and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Heny of Powell, Wyoming. Great grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Riedel, Kearney; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Schulze, Hordville; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Heny and Myron Heny of Powell, Wyoming; Miss Dolores Schulze of Des Moines, Ia., and Ervin Schulze, with the armed forces in Germany.
