Description	:	Job Smith King was born December 10, 1805. His parents resided in Maryland, and the subject of this notice came to Plymouth in Washington County, about 40 years ago. He resided there until 1851 when he purchased the Brawley Grist Mill on federal Creek in Bern Township. He put in a new dam, made extensive repairs and brought that property up to a high degree of popularity. Some years afterwards he sold that mill and removed to a farm in Ames Township. His parents resided in Maryland, and the subject of this notice came to Plymouth in Washington County, about 40 years ago. He resided there until 1851 when he purchased the Brawley Grist Mill on federal Creek in Bern Township. He put in a new dam, made extensive repairs and brought that property up to a high degree of popularity. Some years afterwards he sold that mill and removed to a farm in Ames Township. He resided there some 10 years and then removal in 1859 or 1862 to Millfield, where he has resided ever since, and at which place he died last Sunday at 10:00 AM. He was the father of 17 children, eight of whom are living, and he also leaves a wife. Job S. King, for many years, held the office of justice of the peace and also at times other Township and local offices. He was as honest a man as ever lived. Strongly entrenched behind his own opinions, he was yet at all times tolerant of the opinions of others. He was a good citizen in the best sense. He was a man of good general information and kept well up with the news of the day. He was a kind father and a good husband. In politics he was a strong Republican and when the war began he was an open advocate of the union and his sons fought valiantly for the principles of their father. The community will miss Esq. King and a vacancy will long remain unfilled in his Township. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. R. C. Harper and the ceremonies of the Masonic Temple were conferred by the Athens Lodge. - Athens Messenger, December 11, 1879. Son of Solomon King and Sarah Grimes. Locations unknown at this time.
