Description	:	Jochim Frederick Bauer, born August 27, 1823, at Bauersdorf, Holstein, Germany, died at his home near Walnut, Sunday, November 6, aged 81 years, 2 months and 10 days. The deceased came to his death after a sickness of more than 2 months in which he had been drawing nearer and nearer to death's door until the final end came as about announced. Read More	Jochim Frederick Bauer, born August 27, 1823, at Bauersdorf, Holstein, Germany, died at his home near Walnut, Sunday, November 6, aged 81 years, 2 months and 10 days. The deceased came to his death after a sickness of more than 2 months in which he had been drawing nearer and nearer to death's door until the final end came as about announced. Mr. Bauer lived at the place of his birth in the old country until he grew to manhood and there he was married to Miss Christina Pauchen on August 15, 1852. They continued their residence there until 1866 when they came to America and settled at Davenport, Iowa, residing there until 1873 when they came west and located on the farm where Mr. Bauer passed away last Sunday morning. Eleven children were born to them, five of them having preceded him across the dark valley of death. The wife and six children, 38 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild survive him. All of his children living were present at his bedside during his last sickness and with the exception of a daughter, who recently returned to her home in Montana were near him when death relieved him from his sufferings. Funeral services were held at the German Lutheran church at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Leonhardt of Shelby, following which the body was interred in the cemetery lot in the Walnut cemetery. (Walnut Bureau, Friday, Nov. 11, 1904)
