Description	:	USMA Class of 1963. He was the son of Joe Logan Galle (1913-1993) and Thelma Eklund. He also attended Montana State College for one year and entered West Point in 1959. From 1957 to 1959, he served as an armored cavalry trooper in the Montana National Guard. After graduation and training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he reported for a one year tour of duty in Korea with the 1st Battalion, 15th Armor, 1st Cavalry Division. There he met his first wife, who worked for the Red Cross. Next, he served at the Armor Training Center at Fort Knox during from 1964 to 1968, where he earned a Commendation Medal. Then, he was assigned to Vietnam, where he commanded E Troop, 1st Cavalry, 11th Infantry Brigade. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, a second Commendation Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. After Vietnam, he attended Montana State University where he earned a master's degree in history in 1973. From 1976 to 1978, he was assigned to Headquarters, III Corps, at Fort Hood. In 1977, he earned a master's degree in consulting from American Technical University. In 1978, he resigned from the United States Army with the rank of major and received the Meritorious Service Medal. From 1978 to 1979, he worked as a logistics analyst at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, California. He married a second time, but they divorced in the late 1980s. He moved to Big Sky, Montana where he lived in a cabin in the Gallatin Canyon where he died in 1990. Survivors included his former wife, two daughters of Glendive, Montana and a stepfather, Emmet D.
