Description	:	Joe Stephens Delaney, 94, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Highline Convalescent Center. He was born March 4, 1908, to Edwin and Margaret (Kaple) Delaney at Wenatchee, where he was raised and attended schools. He served as Washington State Demolay President. On Oct. 14, 1927, he married Vere Utter at Wenatchee where they made their home. During W.W. II, Joe worked as a stevadore on the Seattle docks. Joe is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Bob Bagdon, East Wenatchee, Paula and Gordon Sutor, Waterville, Tanya and Phil Barnard, Kennewick; three sons and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Michiko Delaney, Olympia, Rush Delaney and Michael Delaney, both of Wenatchee; 29 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994, his parents, and three brothers, Paul Delaney, John Delaney, and Herman Keyes. A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Fr. Seamus Kerr officiating. A wake to celebrate Joe's life will follow and be celebrated at the home of Bob and Joan Bagdon; 2700 S.E. 6th Street, East Wenatchee, at 2 p.m. Friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Arrangements are assisted by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
