Description	:	JOHN JOHNSON LANDSVERK was born in Chikasaw county, Iowa, Oct. 4, 1856. He was the son of John Landsverk and wife, Anne. There were six brothers and one sister. Of these, three survived him: Lena Svennumsen, Lawler, Ia., Nels, Seattle, Wa., and John, Marshalltown, Ia. He was married to Kari Tollefson at the old Saude Church in 1879. They have lived in Chikasaw county, Howard county, three miles northwest of Saude, Amery, Wis., and Cresco, Ia. Read More	JOHN JOHNSON LANDSVERK was born in Chikasaw county, Iowa, Oct. 4, 1856. He was the son of John Landsverk and wife, Anne. There were six brothers and one sister. Of these, three survived him: Lena Svennumsen, Lawler, Ia., Nels, Seattle, Wa., and John, Marshalltown, Ia. He was married to Kari Tollefson at the old Saude Church in 1879. They have lived in Chikasaw county, Howard county, three miles northwest of Saude, Amery, Wis., and Cresco, Ia. Mr. Landsverk began to fail in health the last year, and through the long weeks of the last two months was unable to lie down at all. He bore his suffering very patiently. He recieved the ministrations of his pastor, Rev. H. M. Normann, very gratefully, and passed to his reward the morning of Aug. 20. He is survived by his wife and nine children: Lena, Mrs. Carl Haugen, Lawler, Ia.; Joseph, Amery, Wis.; Theodore, Cresco, Ia.; Olena, Mrs. John Hofland, Cresco, Ia.; Allert, Cresco, Ia.; Edwin Clemens, Decorah, Iowa; Mabel, Mrs. Charles Ellingson, Center, Nebraska, and also 16 grandchildren and one great grandson: Charles Ellingson, Cresco, Ia. Mr. Landsverk's funeral was held Saturday, Aug. 31, from the home in Cresco to the South Saude church, where the pastor, Rev. H. M. Finstad, preached in English, and Rev. H. M. Normann in Norwegian. In memoriam gifts to missions were made by his wife and the ladies' aid of the First Lutheran Church of Cresco, where the family belongs. John Landsverk was a kind, trustworthy, hard worker. He was a steady church goer as long as his health permitted.
