Description	:	John Johannsen. John Henry Johannsen, prominent farmer, who lived 12 miles north of Goodrich, died suddenly on Thursday, August 18. On the day of his death, Mr. Johannsen received word that his car, which was in the Goodrich garage for repairs, was ready. He was stacking oats at the time and continued to work until the rural carrier arrived. Read More	John Johannsen. John Henry Johannsen, prominent farmer, who lived 12 miles north of Goodrich, died suddenly on Thursday, August 18. On the day of his death, Mr. Johannsen received word that his car, which was in the Goodrich garage for repairs, was ready. He was stacking oats at the time and continued to work until the rural carrier arrived. He ran to the road and caught the mail bus for a ride to town, but after he had ridden about a mile from home he suddenly collapsed and died instantly at about 9:40. Up to his death he talked rationally of threshing, and the only indication of his condition was a groan before his collapse. The deceased was a highly respected citizen and at the time of his death was 59 years and 2 months old. He was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He leaves a wife, 2 daughters and 1 son to mourn his loss. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Broeckel, was held at the farm home and the remains were laid to rest in the Fairview German Baptist Cemetery. That Mr. Johannsen was highly respected in his community is evidenced by the fact that 90 cars were in the procession that sadly escorted the deceased to his last resting place.
