His wife's maiden name was Annie Tobiasen, a native of Germany also; they were married in 1861; have one child——Francis. Mr. Bodeker was a soldier in the old country. SOURCE: Monticello Express December 26, 1918 John Boedeker, an aged and respected resident of Wayne township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Dannaman, last Friday, at the age of 93 years. His death was caused by the infirmities of old age and a severe case of bright's disease. He was born in Hanover, Germany, August 17, 1825. He came to the United States in 1854 and lived for four years at Alton, Illinois. He returned to Germany in 1858, where the following year he was married to Miss Anna Tobiason. They came to the United States in 1865. After spending a year in Illinois, they came to Wayne township, in this county, where they resided on a farm until 1915. They then moved to Amber, where Mrs. Boedeker died about a year ago. Mr. Boedeker is survived by one child, Mrs. Herman Dannaman, of Amber. The funeral services were conducted at the Wayne Lutheran church, last Tuesday, by the pastor of that church, Rev. J. B. Wlllms, and interment was had at the Wayne cemetery.
